AIZA SEGUERRA

Aiza Seguerra (born 17 September 1983) is a Filipino actress, singer and guitarist. She traces her roots from Calauag, Quezon.


Aiza started out as a contestant in Eat Bulaga!'s Little Miss Philippines 1987 and later a child star. After a few years of acting and a string of movies under her belt, her appeal as a child star lessened. She later made a comeback with her single, Pagdating ng Panahon (When the Time Comes)which was certified quadruple platinum. She is openly lesbian.

Aiza won the The Singing Bee (Philippine game show), on July 8, 2008 after Rachel Alejandro gave up her throne as defending champion due to other engagements. She defeated her co-contestant singer Bituin Escalante. Seguerra won P 1,040,000 for a second time on July 10, raising her total winnings now to P 2,080,000. Seguerra's new 10-track album features revivals of old hits - "Open Arms," "Time After Time," "Somewhere Over The Rainbow," "At Last," "Vincent," "Smooth Operator," "Home," "Journey," and "Longer." Aiza had also performed in Singapore for the Singapore Repertory Theatre presentation of the stage play "Avenue Q."

Billy Crawford (born Billy Joe Crawford on May 16, 1982) is an Filipino-American musician and actor with musical influences from R&B, pop, and soul. Crawford became known in Europe and Asia with song titles such as "When You Think About Me", "Never My Love", "Steamy Nights" and "Bright Lights". Crawford is multilingual, being fluent in two Philippine languages, his native Tagalog as well as Cebuano. His second language is American English and he is conversational in French. Crawford has lived in New York City, USA, and in Paris for five years and for one year in London. He currently resides in Los Angeles as of 2007. In 2008, he went to Manila to host Pinoy Dream Academy's uberture. He has also hosted the prestigious Miss Earth 2008 held in the Philippines.

Crawford was born in Manila, Philippines, to a Filipina mother who is half Spanish named Mayette and an American father named Jack. He has two half-brothers. Crawford was discovered at an early age of 3 years, singing at a bowling alley that his mother visited often. He became a series regular on an afternoon GMA Network television show called That's Entertainment under the name Billy Joe. He attended International Christian Academy in the Philippines until his departure for the US when he was 11 and balanced both his professional acting and academic repertory obligations. He acted in a few movies before he moved to the United States where he started a music career, performing mostly in the United Kingdom and France, as well as in Asia. His pre-career started in Dallas, Texas, USA, where he lived and performed his singing and then moved to New York City. During this time, he legally changed his name to Billy Crawford. He went to a school in New York City which lots of other famous people such as Mandy Moore and Nina Sky attended. In 1996, he danced with Michael Jackson onstage when he was 14 years old and appeared as one of his back-up dancers at the 1995 MTV Video Music Awards. He dated Mandy Moore for almost a year when he was 15 and she was 14.



He recorded his first album called Billy Crawford (which included hits such as "Urgently In Love" and "Mary Lopez") when he was 15 years old. It went straight into the charts in the Philippines and Europe. His foreign career did not last too long. After a year, everyone began to forget who he was. He took a small break at first and had a few accidents during that time and he was in the hospital. When he was released from hospital, he fainted and fell down the stairs in front of it, and returned to hospital the same day with a broken jaw, which healed successfully. His quiet break lasted more than a year.

Crawford had major chart success in France and other parts of Europe, but did not repeat this success in the United Kingdom and the United States, although his single "You Didn't Expect That" did make the lower reaches of the UK Top 40, peaking at number 35. He also contributed a remix of the Pokémon anime theme song for Pokémon: The First Movie in the series. Crawford also appeared at a popular Filipino American event called "Fiesta Filipina" in 2001 held in San Francisco, California, and American people have become more aware of his name.

Crawford's album Big City was released in 2004 in France and Asia only. The single "Bright Lights" was unable to break into the any Top 10 charts. The second single "Steamy Nights", fared better making Top 40, and was featured on 7 compilations across Europe and was the first single in Germany. Crawford's music video for "Steamy Nights" was shot in Los Angeles, California, and was produced with the same people who worked on the Destiny's Child single "Lose My Breath". Actress Jenna Dewan, who was one of the main characters in the popular 2006 movie Step Up, was featured as one of Crawford's main dance partners.

Martin Ramon Nievera was born on February 5, 1962, in Manila, Philippines together with twin sister, Vicky, to Bert Nievera & Conchita Razon. Nievera spent most of his childhood in Hawaii together with his father as his father sang for the group S.O.S. (a.k.a. A Society of Seven).
Inspired by his father's talent and success, he returned to the Philippines in 1982 to begin his own singing career and by June 1982 he released his first LP, Martin...Take One with the album reaching platinum in just five months. Martin also began co-hosting the TV variety show Penthouse Live! together with Pops Fernandez, the Philippines' "Concert Queen," who would later become his wife. Martin's second LP, 1984's "The Best Gift", also reached platinum. In 1987, Penthouse Live! was changed to Martin and Pops Twogether, in celebration of their marriage. Martin's affable on-stage personality had mass appeal, and throughout the 80s and 90s his albums and live performances were fanatically devoured. After his marriage to Pops, with whom he has two sons, Ram and Robin, failed in 1998, he wrote and recorded music for the sole purpose of winning her back, which he called Forever. Even though he didn’t succeed, the music ended up in the hands of the public and rose to become a best-selling music collection. The two sequels, Forever Forever and Return to Forever are also about the split. Both of these albums hit platinum sales as well.

As an actor, Martin has an extensive acting career and has appeared or starred in eleven movies and seven television series and specials. Martin's film credits include dramas, romance, science fiction, comedy and action.

Martin is now temporarily based in Las Vegas, Nevada together with Katrina Ojeda with whom he has a son named Santino (born October 23, 2006 at St. Rose Hospital in Las Vegas, NV).

REYCARD DUET

Reycard Duet BIOGRAPHY



Reycards duet is composed of Rey Ramirez and Carding Cruz. As the Reycard duet, Cruz and Ramirez had been entertaining audiences since the sixties. Ramirez was known as the dashing singer while Cruz provided the comedy in every performance.

Rey and Carding first teamed up in 1953 during a singing contest in Quiapo, Manila, where they won first prize.

In 1954, they started calling themselves the Reycard Duet and became the most famous entertainers at the Clover Theater and the Manila Grand Opera House, both in Manila.

The Reycard Duet also performed in town fiestas, on television and radio in the '50s.

In the 1960s, the Reycards hit it big in Las Vegas, which became their home for more than 40 years. They became known not only in the US but also in Europe and other parts of the globe.

Carding whose real name was RICARDO Castro, was married to a Japanese woman but they had been separated.

In the early '90s, they hosted "Awitawanan," with Pilita on Channel 13. They also starred in comedies like "Katabi Ko'y Mamaw and "Yes, Yes, Yo, Kabayong Kutsero


When Ramirez died, Cruz remained active as a solo performer and for a few years was part of the ensemble cast of the ABS-CBN comedy sitcom Home Along da Riles.


He died of cardiac arrest in a hospital in Las Vegas in 2003 .

Carding was survived by his sons Bongbong, Anthony and Jerico, and siblings Saturnina, Angelita and Belen.

Carding was 70.

Rey Ramirez, the other half of the Reycard Duet, died in August 1997.

He was survived by his wife actress Lyn D' Amour and children.

Rey's death had broken Carding's heart, according to their close friends in show business.

EDGAR MORTIZ

Edgar Mortiz won in the Tawag ng Tanghalan. He became the love team of Vilma Santos in his ealry movie career.

Bobot, aside from being a versatile actors, is well-respected as a TV and movie director. He is married to Millet, the youngest sister of ABS-CBN top gun Charo Santos Concio and Star Cinema managing directress Malou Santos.

Bobot and Millet are blessed with four children. The eldest, Franco, is 24 years old and a UP Fine Arts graduate. He also dabbles in song writing. He is behind the music of "Game K N B?," the top-rating game show on ABS-CBN, hosted by Kris Aquino.

The Mortiz's second son, Albert, 22, is also a UP graduate. He finished
advertising.

Colen, 21, is about to finish her marketing course from the Colegio de San Lorenzo. The youngest, Camille, 20, is taking up Masscom at Miriam College.

Ariel Rivera was born on May 21, 1970 to Ben and Fannie Rivera of Chinese and Spanish ancestry, respectively. He has four siblings and keeps his personal life private. Rivera has stated music was always played around his home and that he was raised in a middle class family.


In 1989, Musiko Entertainment signed the 19 year old to their label. His debut was crafted very carefully and was labeled as their "Next Big Thing." After two years, his self-titled debut album was finally ready for release. The firsr single, "Mahal Na Nahal Kita" (I Love You So Much) was a #1 pop-r&b crossover hit. The album went 3x platinum. In 1991, he quickly released his second album, Simple Lang. This album also went 3x platinum.

Acting career

In 1992, Ariel Rivera decided to take a chance at acting. His first starring role in the film Bakit Labis Kitang Mahal earned him a Best Supporting Actor award in the 1992 Metro Manila Film Festival. A lead role opposite Sharon Cuneta in 1993's "Ikaw" made him a bankable leading actor. He also co-starred in Isang sulok ng mga pangarap (1994); Anghel na walang langit (1994); Minsan May Pangarap: The Guce Family Story (1995); May nagmamahal sa iyo (1996), Ikaw pala ang mahal ko (1997) and Bata, bata ... Paano ka ginawa? (1998).

Diomedes Maturan



Diomedes Maturan (dubbed the "Perry Como of the Philippines") was an actor who played in Botika sa baryo (1960) and Tawag ng tanghalan.

With his humble roots in amateur singing contests, Diomedes Maturan rose to fame when he became champion of the national TV show Tawag ng Tanghalan in 1958, with his interpretation of the song “Rose Tattoo; earning for him a role in LVN Pictures’ movie Rose Tattoo ng Buhay Ko with Charito Solis as co-star, commencing a colorful acting stint that would last for 24 more musical films. Some of the classics that he popularized were Velarde’s Dahil Sa’yo, and Gabi at Araw. In 1984, he garnered a Cecil Award in Outstanding Light Classical Vocal Recording for his rendition of Ernani Cuenco’s composition Gaano Ko Ikaw Kamahal


Maturan died on April 7, 2002 of heart attack at age 61.

He was survived by his wife Sylvia and children Dennis, Ma. Teresa, Dominic, and Marjorie.

BOBBY GONZALES

Bobby Gonzales was born in 1942 and died in October 2002 from emphysema He started appearing in movies in 1950's under Premiere Productions.

In the 60's he started recording where his song Inday ng Buhay Ko and Hahabol-habol became an instant hits. Salidumay from Vicor Records became the favorite of his fans.


Other records were, Ale Ale, Walastik, Dalagang Suplada and Diyan Ka Na. He hosted radio and television shows like the Big Show that eventually became Oras ng Ligaya with Sylvia La Torre. Then he moved to Tokyo and lived there as entertainer. He also sung in Vegas and Atlantic City with the Reycards Duet.

Coming back to the Philippines, he performed in the Intramuros Bar of the Manila Garden Hotel, performing kundiman and Japanese songs. Before he died, he received the Lou Salvador Memorial Award.

Christian Joseph Morata Bautista was born in Imus, Cavite on October 19, 1981.

Christian Bautista, a runner-up in the Star's in a Million is a singing sensation in the Philippines. He has not only established a name for himself in the music scene in his home country, but also in Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore.

After winning the contest, he signed up with hit-making label Warner Music Philippines. With chart-topping hits like "Colour Everywhere," "Hands to Heaven," and “The Way You Look At Me,” Christian's fame soared and life was never the same again for the 24-year old Landscape Architecture graduate. Christian’s self-titled album reached Multi-Platinum status in the Philippines and Indonesia.



Christian’s “The Way You Look At Me,” is very popular in the Indonesia that it is getting frequent airplay in Indonesian radio stations. The song became an instant hit among the country’s young music lovers, even if they had yet to see the artist behind the ballad. The song, penned by American composers Andrew Fromm and Keith Follese, became so popular that record label Warner Indonesia decided to bring Christian there, to the great delight of the fans whose support for the Filipino singer has been steadily growing and even spreading to neighboring countries.

Last February 2006, Indonesia’s largest TV station, RCTI, aired “Completely — Christian Bautista,” the young balladeer’s first-ever Indonesian TV special. Christian performed with the biggest names in the Indonesian music scene — the famous 40-piece Magenta Orchestra, the young musical genius Andi Rianto, and the country’s two female divas, Krisdayanti and Titi D.J.
