When Premiere Productions introduced in a movie, Rosemarie expected she would just get a minor role. The production, however, gave her the title role in Santa Rita de Casia (1958).

Rosemarie Gil—She was the first unanimous choice to appear as the saintly nun in Sta. Rita de Casia, where she co-starred with Lauro Delgado. He was married to Eddie Mesa with whom she has three acting siblings, namely Michael de Mesa, Mark Gil and Cherrie Gil. She appeared in Mga Hagibis with Eddie Rodriguez, Vic Vargas and Jing Abalos.

Eddie Mesa dubbed as Elvis Presley of the Philippines is the husband of Rosemarie Gil, the father of actors Mark and Michael and actress Cherie Gil. He appeared mostly in musical comedy pictures while performing in stage with his band, the Hijacks.

After long years of separation, he reconciled with his wife, Rosemarie Gil.
He's now active as a Gospel preacher.
