She is the daughter of Rosemarie Sonora  and Ricky Belmonte.

Sheryl Rose Anna Marie Sonora Cruz (born April 5, 1974 in Makati City, Philippines), better known simply as Sheryl Cruz, is a Filipina actress and singer. She is known for her role as Divina Ferrer on 2007's television drama series Sinasamba Kita and as Valeria on Bakekang and Rosalinda.

Cruz started her career at a very young age. She won the FAMAS Best Child Actress award for her portrayal in the movie "Mga Basang Sisiw" opposite Janice de Belen, Che Che and the late Julie Vega. She also won best child actress for the movie "Roman Rapido" opposite her late uncle the King of Filipino Movies, Fernando Poe Jr.
She was later contracted by Regal Films along with Kristina Paner and Manilyn Reynes to form the sensational group "TRIPLETS". Among the three, Manilyn Reynes became the Star of the New Decade and Sheryl Cruz became the Princess of Philippine Cinema. At that time, GMA Network established the youth oriented TV show "That's Entertainment" hosted by German Moreno, where she became part of the Wednesday group.
Her movie career blossomed as part of Philippine cinema's most memorable loveteams, that of herself and Romnick Sarmenta. Sheryl then signed a contract with Seiko Films. Sheryl was named during her teen years as "The Princess of the Philippine Movies". She later married and moved to the United States. In August 2004, Sheryl decided to return home, and starred in her comeback movie, Mano Po 3: My Love, with her godmother the Star for All Seasons, Ms. Vilma Santos-Recto, governor of Batangas.
But her biggest break was starring in two seasons of Now and Forever, "Tinig" and "Ganti", which garnered high ratings (equivalent to that of a primetime show) despite its being on an afternoon timeslot. She appeared on Bakekang, in which her villainous character, Valeria, became a household name. She made the transfer to ABS-CBN after her blooming career on GMA when she was offered to play Ms. Minchin, the villain of Princess Sarah. She decided to shift networks again and decided to stay at her network home GMA to do Luna Mystica opposite a former talent of ABS-CBN, Heart Evangelista. She is now back at GMA Network.
In the mid-plot of the Sine Novela offering Tinik Sa Dibdib she was cast as the additional character in the series. Rumored that she was the replacement of Ara Mina. In the series, she was the lead antagonist, the love triangle between Lando (portrayed by: Marvin Agustin) and Lorna (portrayed by: Sunshine Dizon in the first three weeks) and Nadine Samonte.
After her role on Tinik sa Dibdib Sheryl was chosen by GMA Network to appear in Langit sa Piling Mo as a guest star. She is recently starring in the first season of GMA reality comedy series Ang Yaman ni LolaGrazilda. every afternoon and on primetime in
In 2011 Cruz joined the cast of the new television series Mga Nagbabagang Bulaklak for TV5.

She is the niece of actress Susan Roces, the Queen of Filipino Movies. Cruz and her husband Norman Bustos were married in 1996 but filed for divorce in March 2008. They have a daughter named Ashley Nicole.

He has Swiss, Italian and French ancestry on his mother's side and Spanish ancestry on his father's side.

On January 12, 2011, he married actress Kristine Hermosa. They have two children. One is adopted, Kristian Daniel or Kiel, born August 16, 2008 and the other their biological daughter, Ondrea Bliss, born December 26, 2011.

Grace Poe is the adopted daughter of Susan Roces and Fernando Poe Jr.Mary Grace Poe-Llamanzares.
She was an active leader and public speaker since her elementary years, she was a champion debater during her high school years, and a student council officer in college. She took up Development Studies at the University of the Philippines-Manila, but eventually finished Political Science (Government and Political Theory) at Boston College. As a mother of three, she is very involved in the welfare of her family, but she also a strong passion to be as equally involved in national affairs – living up to the legacy that her father left her.

Nowadays, Poe-Llamanzares divides her time among her family, her involvement with FPJ groups, and in running the family business, FPJ Productions and Film Archive.

Dubbed as the soprano comedienne, she appeared in such films as Gorio at Tekla and Takas sa Bataan which was directed by Olive la Torre, her father. She also appeared in Yantok Mindoro, Sebya Mahal Kita and O Sendang with Pugo, Rosa Aguirre and Bentot .

Sylvia La Torre was born in 1933. She took her first voice lessons from her mother Leonora Reyes, a Kundiman and opera singer. Her first break as a singer happened in 1938 at the age of five, she defeated much older competitors with her powerful rendition of “Bakit Mo Ako Pinaluha?” at Savoy Theater. The years during the Japanese Occupation saw Sylvia as a child performer in stage shows at the Life Theater, singing and acting in skits along with popular stars, her repertoire consisted of songs in Filipino, English, Spanish and Japanese. She studied at the University of Sto. Thomas (UST) Conservatory of Music after the war.

Alice Baby Smitjh aka Pamela Ponti

In the ‘60s, she was briefly known onscreen as Pamela Ponti, Italian-sounding when she’s actually an American mestiza, Alice ‘Baby’ Smith. Her acting career didn’t flourish as she fell in love with Dolphy (Rodolfo Vera Quizon), not yet the Comedy King that he is today.

Alice and Dolphy had three children: Ronnie, Eric and Donna Quizon.

She’s now based in California with daughter Donna. They own and run the popular franchise restaurant Pinoy/Pinay.

Lilian Velez

Lilian Velez--Some of her films included Binibiro Lamang Kita (with Norma Blancaflor, Ely Ramos and Narding Anzurez), Engkantada (with Lilia Dizon, Pugo,Togo and Alfonso Carvajal), Estudyante (with Narding Anzurez, Pugo and Togo) and Sa Kabukiran (with Narding Anzurez). Her sensational killing by her own co-star Narding Anzures was made into a film, The Lilian Velez Story, which starred Sharon Cuneta as Lilian Velez, Cesar Montano and Joel Torre under the direcion of Carlo J. Caparas. She was a native of Cebu whose father, Manuel Velez was a composer for movies. Narding Anzures was the son of Rosa Aguirre. He died of tuberculosis in Bilibid Prison.

Vic Vargas was the he-man and macho of Philippine movies. Born
Jose Maria Marfort Asuncion on March 28, 1939, he was a campus
heartthrob when he was taking up Commerce at the University of Sto.
Tomas. His ticket to fame was his physique. In fact, before he became
an actor, he first hosted a judo show on Channel 7 in 1961. Then came
the movies the following year. He played the title role in Diegong
Tabak with Lolita Rodriguez as his leading lady.

Then, together with Dolphy, he did the hilarious action-comedy
Tarzan vs. Tansan. They had two former Miss Philippines winners as
leading ladies: Josephine Estrada and Cynthia Ugalde.

Vic Vargas stayed with Sampaguita until the mid-‘60s, where he did
mostly action films: Ang Rosario at ang Tabak, Walang Takot sa
Patalim, Kumander Judo, Mga Kanyon ng Corregidor and Paratroops
Squadron.

From action, he shifted to sex flicks – actually bomba movies that
became the fad in the early ‘70s: Apoy ng Kaligayan with Stella Suarez
and Rosanna Ortiz; Busog with Merle Fernandez, Bert Leroy Jr. and
Philip Gamboa, Mister Incredible with Jessica, Rosanna Ortiz and Ricky
Santiago and Ang Bukid ay Basa with Gina Laforteza and Rosanna Ortiz.

But the majority of the films he did were really action or drama
laced with sex scenes: Mga Hagibis (no rleation to Sonny parsons and
his singing group) with Eddie Rodriguez and Eddie Garcia; Ako’y Tao,
May Dugo at Laman, an Armando Garces all-star cast drama with Rita
Gomez, Helen Gamboa, Perla Bautista, Leila Morena, Eddie Garcia, Eddie
Gutierrez, Leopoldo Salcedo and Ramil Rodriguez, Kapwa Limbas with
Roberto Gonzales and Rosanna Ortiz and Dodong Ko with Gloria Sevilla,
Perla Bautista, Anita Linda and Frankie Navaja Jr.

In 1971, he did his most important film – Pagdating sa Dulo, which
was also the first movie of Ishmael Bernal. Voted one of the best
films of the ‘70s by the Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino, Pagdating
was a commentary on crass commercialism, materialism and the state of
the movie industry. Aside from Vargas (who played a taxi
driver-turned-movie actor), the movie also starred Rita Gomez, Eddie
Garcia and Elvira Manahan.

It was El Vibora, however, that gave him his first Best Actor
award (Manila Film Festival, 1972). Serialized in Liwayway, El Vibora
cast him as a bandit on the lookout for the man who raped his sister
and killed his family (It was Leopoldo Salcedo, a supposedly good
citizen of the community, who did it). El Vibora also starred Boots
Anson-Roa as his love interest.

The following year, he repeated his victory at the Manila Film
Festival for Nueva Vizcaya, where he played a warring Tarican. The
film also starred Zaldy Zshornack and was the launching movie of Miss
Republic of the Philippines, Evangeline Reyes.

In 1974, he also played leading man in the movie debut of another
beauty queen-turned-actress – Gloria Diaz, this time in Ang
Pinakamagandang Hayop sa Balat ng Lupa.

The other movies he made with the former Miss Universe were Amor,
An Affair in Tahiti and much later, Hayop sa Ganda with another Miss
Universe, Amparo Muñoz.

To show their versatility, Vargas and Diaz also tried comedy in
the Andres de Saya series.

The other significant movies he did were Pito ang Asawa Ko, Sinong
Kapiling, Sinong Kasiping?, Banta ng Kahapon, The King and the Emperor
and In Dis Korner which gave him an Urian Best Actor nomination.

On television, he also topbilled Lahi ni Adan on a round-robin
basis with Bert Leroy, Jr., Dindo Fernando and Jay Ilagan (All of
Vargas’ episodes were directed by Lupita Concio (now Kashiwahara).

And there was a time he also tried hosting Tawag ng Tanghalan
after the death of the original male host, Lopito (the hosting job
eventually went to Pugo).

Vic Vargas was also among the first batch of actors who joined the
Charismatic movement. A few years before he died, he also did his
share for the environment when he joined Bantay-Dagat in Palawan.

She appeared in Tulisang Pugot (with Fred Montilla), Ang Kasaysayan ni Rudy Concepcion and Texas, Ang Manok na Nagsasalita which we all produced by Sampaguita Pictures. She also appeared in Rosalinda (with Rodolfo Ruiz), whose main story was story based on the recording and radio industry as produced by Philippine Artists' Management.

Veteran radio/theater/TV/movie actress Tita Muñoz died of heart failure at 6:10 night, in April 11, 2009. She was 82.

Maria Teresa in real life, Tita was among the pioneer radio talents. She starred in several stage plays and Hollywood-produced films including Flight of the Sparrow.

Even after she suffered a stroke several years ago, Tita continued to appear in movies and TV shows.

Her remains have been cremated. The wake will be held at the Sampaguita Chapel of the Funeraria Paz at the Manila Memorial Park in Sucat, Parañaque City, until Tuesday, April 14. A necrological Mass will be held tonight at 7 o’clock.

Tita is survived by brothers Rafael and Cayetano, sisters-in-laws, nieces and nephews including the Muñoz actor-brothers Leandro, Carlo and Angelo (sons of Tita’s late younger brother Louie) who are now based in the States.

RONALD BREGENDAHL

Ronal Bregendahl is the son of Rita Gomez to Ric Rodrigo whose real name was Paul Albert Bregendahl. While studying in San Beda, he joined the Philippine movies. He joined his mother Rita Gomez when she migrated to the United States.

 Ronald Bregendahl  has been based in Anaheim, California (he works as an executive at a hotel) for years with his wife and children. One of Rita Gomez’s sons, Ronald was last seen in the Ishmael Bernal mid-’80s drama Hinugot sa Langit, one of the movies Ronald did after he and Cherie Gil were launched as a young love team in Bubot Na Bayabas. Despite the years, Ronald has retained his matinee-idol looks, the few added pounds notwithstanding. Ronald would love to resume acting again even if only on a part-time basis.

MANILA, Philippines - Never dare ask a lady her age. But if the woman in question is 1940s movie queen Mila del Sol, expect the unexpected.

"I'm 45," she says in jest. "But sometimes I'm tempted to say my real age … 46!"

That's Mila's quick retort after being accosted by eager fans at a recent screening of the films of LVN colleague Rosa Rosal at the IndieSine of Robinsons Galleria.

Mila is back in Manila after two decades in the US and, she says, she is raring to act in movies and television again.

Her last film was 1989's "Kahit Wala Ka Na," where she played mom to Sharon Cuneta. Prior to that, she shared the screen with Vilma Santos and Fernando Poe Jr. in 1974's "Batya't Palo-Palo."

"I got to work with big shots," notes Mila, or Clarita Rivera in real life, who made movies as a teenager in 1938 with FPJ's father, Fernando Poe Sr.

"I was cast as Fernando's younger sister in 'Hatol ng Mataas na Langit' and 'Ang Maya.' I played support to him and soprano Consuelo Salazar."

A year later, kid sister was promoted to leading-lady status, but not before going through the proverbial wringer.

"Giliw Ko," LVN's maiden offering in 1939, was the film that almost got away from Mila.

Carmen Rosales tried out for the lead role of Guia, but was promptly rejected by LVN matriarch Doña Sisang de Leon.

"Doña Sisang thought Carmen's nose was flat," Mila recalls. "Later, they asked Corazon Noble, but Sampaguita didn't allow her to work with LVN."

Originally, Doña Sisang had her heart set on Mila's older sister Gloria Imperial, a major dramatic actress then.

"But her fiancé, Alfredo Bunye, asked her to quit the movies," Mila relates. "My sister Gloria later married Alfredo and one of their sons is Press Secretary Ignacio Bunye."

All-around assistant

Mila recounts that her first show biz role was as Gloria's chaperone and all-around assistant. "I carried her clothes and makeup kit to the set. Chimay na chimay ako. (I was her maid.) I wanted to be in the movies that badly."

Propitiously, it was while accompanying her sister to a race in San Lazaro that she was spotted by Doña Sisang's daughter Bading.

"Bading told her mother that Gloria had a younger sister, but that she was plump, a tomboy," Mila reminisces.

When Doña Sisang met Mila, the pioneering producer was smitten. The old lady fought for Mila to be cast in "Giliw Ko," though the director, Carlos Vander Tolosa, hated the neophyte.

"He was skeptical about my abilities," she remembers. "Even if the scene didn't call for it, he ordered me to keep running in front of the camera. He wanted me to get tired and give up."

That merely strengthened her resolve. Eventually, she won over Tolosa who christened her Mila del Sol. "He realized that, wherever we went, even if the sky was overcast, the sun would inexplicably shine when it was time to shoot my scenes. She called me the 'miracle of the sun.'"

Looking back, she feels she was fated to co-star with Fernando Poe Sr., Mona Lisa and Ely Ramos in "Giliw Ko."

"I started with LVN, and LVN started with me," she notes. "We made each other stars."

Doña Sisang helped build Mila's first home in Sta. Mesa Heights. "From P500 per picture, I later earned P25,000 per film. Rogelio de la Rosa and I were among the highest paid stars at the time."

To think she had very modest dreams when she first joined the biz. "I prayed that I'd become a movie star so I could buy my mom a pair of slippers. We were poor. Although my seven siblings and I had slippers, our mom didn't. She sacrificed a lot for the family."

Malacañang guest

From their impoverished neighborhood in Karapatan (near San Lazaro), Manila, she and her family suddenly found themselves in Malacañang one day.

During the premiere of "Giliw Ko" at the Metropolitan Theater, her constant running onscreen impressed the president, Manuel L. Quezon.

Mila recounts: "He stood up and applauded, shouting: 'Donde este Guia?' [Where is Guia?] My character's name was Guia."

The spotlight searched for Mila who was in the bleachers. "I wasn't seated with the stars because I wasn't popular!"

President Quezon insisted on meeting the newcomer. "He invited me and my family to have breakfast at the Palace the next day."

Before and after World War II, she averaged five to six movies a year.

She had the most famous actors of the era—Rogelio and Jaime de la Rosa, Leopoldo Salcedo and Jose Padilla Jr.—for leading men.

"Rogelio was serious, the statesman; Jaime liked to joke around. Pol [Salcedo] was always busy, hopping from one set to another. Pempe [Padilla] was pilyo [naughty]. Which I loved because I was also pilya."

She was known as the original "Sarong Girl" of Philippine movies, local counterpart of Hollywood's Dorothy L'amour, because she literally made a splash in a wet sarong, in the 1947 film "Sarong Banggi," which co-starred Rogelio de la Rosa and comedienne Lopita. (A clip of her "daring" sarong swimming scene is on YouTube.)

Even though she was already married to Jesus "Sonny" Tambunting, she continued to top-bill one box-office hit after another. "I already had two children (Sonny and Ellen) then. I must've made 50 movies with LVN," she notes.

Hollywood roles

In 1957, she also acted in a Hollywood film, "Escapade in Japan," which co-starred Teresa Wright, Jon Provost and a then-unknown Clint Eastwood.

"I also worked with Clint on the TV shows 'Raw Hide' and 'Silent Service,'" she relates. "I ended up in Hollywood because I was a foreign correspondent for Kislap-Graphic magazine."

By then, she was separated from Jesus and married to diplomat Al Young, who became the father of her two other daughters, singer-TV host Jeanne Young and Peachy Young, mother of musician Ira Cruz.

While in the US with Al, and Peachy was already three years old, she went back to Hollywood High, where she earned her high school diploma in 1961.

In the US, she took a business course at the City College of Los Angeles. Back in Manila, she enrolled in special courses at the Ateneo with her grown son, Ancel Edgar.

In 1965, Mila, son Sonny and daughter-in-law Terry Tambunting started Superior janitorial service, "on a wing and a prayer." The company has been in business for 45 years.

For 10 years, she shied away from the limelight and took care of ailing daughter Peachy.

After Peachy's passing a year ago, Mila decided it was time to come home.

She could've settled for quiet retirement in San Francisco, but duty beckoned once again.

Son Sonny and grandson Gus Tambunting, current vice mayor of Parañaque, made Mila an offer she couldn't resist.

"They asked me to chair the company's foundation, Pag-Asa ng Kabataan, designed to provide college scholarships to the indigent," she says. She believes it's the most enduring legacy she can leave to her 15 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

The foundation and her pilgrimage to different local churches keep Mila busy these days.

"If I get TV and movie assignments, I'm pledging my talent fee to the foundation," she says.

LIEZL MUHLACH MARTINEZ

 She is the daughter of Amalia Fuentes and Romeo Vasquez. She was born on March 27, 1967. She started in the movies when she was still a toddler. She eloped with Albert Martinez when her mother Amalia objected to their relationship.  They stayed in the United States where their children were born and grew up.

Her children are Alyanna, Alfonso and Alyssa. She is the cousin of Aga Muhlach, Nino and Arlene Muhlach.

 RAYMART SANTIAGO

Raymond Martin (Raymart) Santiago  was born on  July 20, 1973. He is an action star and a comedian who belongs to the show business families-the Santiagos.

 His father was the late director Pablo Santiago Sr. He is the youngest among the Santiago siblings. He and two of his elder brothers are also known in their respective fields in show business—them being Randy Gerard (or Randy Santiago) who is a singer/actor/host and Rowell who is a director/actor. Their other brother is Reilly Pablo Jr., who was married to another local actress Sherilyn Reyes and also tried his hand at film production.
 
He married actress Claudine Barretto on March 27, 2006 in Tagaytay Highlands in Tagaytay City, Cavite. Their wedding was attended by ABS-CBN and GMA Network executives, their families (except Gretchen Barretto, who at the time of the wedding was estranged with Claudine), their showbiz and non-showbiz friends. Claudine gave birth to their son on July 19, 2007—a day before the couple’s birthday. Rodrigo Santino joins big sister Sabina Natasha(b 2004), whom they adopted at 2 months old in July 2004. Both Claudine and Raymart are Born-again Christians which they attended at Victory Christian Fellowship.

Matimtiman Cruz

Matimtiman Cruz was a Filipina actress under the now defunct Sampaguita Pictures, who later became a comedian. If the present showbiz world in the Philippines has Ai-Ai delas Alas and Pokwang, Matimtiman Cruz was among the favorite and highly paid comedians in the country in the early fifties. She probably ranked second only to the comedy team of Chichayand Aruray. Comedy in the movies and radio was a hit after World War II as the country was yet reeling off from the massive devastation of the war. Matimtiman often portrayed the role of an erratic housemaid who was easily frightened and uttered funny inanities at the slightest provocation.

Metring David RIP

Demetria "Metring" David (June 20, 1920 – October 7, 2010) was a Filipino comedienne, famous for her "big feet" as she was called by her colleagues.

Born in 1920, she first appeared as a comedienne in the dramas Malapit sa Diyos (Near to God), and Walang Hanggang, both under Lebran Pictures. In that same year she was included in the comedy film entitled Babaing Kalbo starring Eleanor Medina. She made movies for other film companies including LVN Pictures, Galawgaw a Nida Blanca movie, Fremel Pictures and a small role in Sapagka't Mahal Kita (Because, I Love You) to name a few. In the years that followed, Metring David rose to popularity as a comedian in the 1960s a decade in which she made some 3 dozen films and many television appearances.

Paquito Diaz, RIP

Paquito Diaz whose real name was Francisco Bustillos Diaz died in March 3 from lingering illness. Considered one of the top villains of movie industry, he was born on May 28, 1937 He got two children who are also in the showbiz, Cheska and Joko Diaz. Romy Diaz, his brother who was also popular as contravida died in 2005.

Paquito Diaz suffered from stroke in 2002 and the damily decided to move to his wife's hometown in Daraga, Albay They sold the house and lot in the city due to mounting hospital bills. His last appearance was at GMA 7's Wish Ko Lang.

Tessie Tomas

She was one of the nuts in "Champoy," the schizophrenic Barbara Tengco in "Abangan ang Susunod na Kabanata," occasional weather girl Amanda Pineda, and of course, the ''femme fatale'' TV host in "Teysi ng Tahanan."

She even had her share of film roles, most notable of which was her portrayal of Imelda Marcos for the Australian production of "A Dangerous Life."

Her only son Robin Tomas is a successful designer in New York, USA.

Zorayda Sanchez. RIP

Zorayda Sanchez finished her college at the University of Santo Tomas. She wrote scripts for DZRH drama programs. Her first film was the late Claudia Zobel’s Shame.

She zoomed to popularity in the ‘80s, when she starred in the gag show Going Bananas with Christopher de Leon, Johnny Delgado, Jay Ilagan, Edgar Mortiz and Al Tantay.

Her other movies were Working Girls, Feel na Feel, Hotdog, Petrang Kabayo, Pilyang Kuting and Bagets

She died of breast cancer in 2008.

Ritchie Paul is the son of Eddie Gutierrez and Annabelle Rama, He is the youngest among the six siblings. What makes him apart from his show business family is his music. 

He appeared as guest in Zorro and became a regular cast member of Pilyang Kerubin. 

He has four brothers, Richard, Raymond, Elvis and Rocky. He has two half-brother, Tonton Gutierrez and Christopher.
